JP0358 - JBP Sportsman Connecting Rod Set (6) w/ARP Rod Bolts (Installed)
Price: [$438.9 (US$416.96)]
The price of aftermarket forged connecting rods out of your budget? Building a motor that will require a little more tensile strength than what the stock rods can handle? In comes JBP with the answer! Our new sportsman rods will more than definately fit performance builders budget and deliver better than stock tensile strengths and heat disappation (oil roll-over) all for under $400CDN! Just supply your old cores! What good is a Sportsman rod without ARP Black Oxide rod bolts? These are included in the JBP Sportsman Connecting Rod set package. How does the a JBP Sportsman rod fair against a plain stock rod? There is a period of elastic deformation, in which the material is stretched, but it returns to its original size when unloaded. The point at which it fails to return to the original specifications is called the yield stress. This is why most connecting rods come out of an engine at different size than when they were installed. After the yield stress, another stress point can be reached called the ultimate stress point. At this point, a material has essentially reached the point of no return. Failure is imminent, and even a decreased amount of stress can cause fracture. So, naturally, this is what we concern ourselves with. We've already gone too technical, view our analytical comparision we performed in the below data:

STOCK ROD:
Yield Stress:
~80,000-180,000PSI
Ultimate Stress Point:650,000PSI
Heat Dissapation: 2.8 x 10^7 J/hr

JBP SPORTSMAN ROD:
Yield Stress: ~85,0000-192,000PSI
Ultimite Stress Point: 925,000PSI
Heat Dissapation: 3.7 x 10^7 J/hr
